Let's create something beautiful! Together........

15 years ago, my first child was born. I had his pictures taken professionally every 3 months, and snapped thousands of snapshots each month. From his first food, to his first steps, EVERYTHING was photographed, and neatly put into a work of art. Something he will have forever. His scrapbook.

Fast forward 13 years, to 2010. My third child was born with some severe medical issues. (No newborn photos) Four months in the hospital (no 3 month pictures) Spent Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas in the hospital. (no professional holiday portrait) Did I take less pictures? No. I took thousands upon thousands. The delivery, the tubes, the multiple incisions, the breathing machine, the Dr.s, the nurses, his first bottle, his first diaper, his different rooms, and his own little personality.

Now, what I would have done 15 years ago, is taken my film into Costco immediately, have it developed, and waited the hour until I could pick them up. Off I went with all my memories in my hand.

Do we all do that today? Do you? Well, I didn't. Here is what happened....

I had the thousands upon thousands of images of my last born child saved to an external hard drive connected to my computer. You know, the one where you "know" everything will be safe? Not so much. Being a Professional Photographer, I am VERY good about backing up my client images. Hell, I still have the images from the very first wedding I photographed 6 years ago. I was so busy worrying about all my clients memories, that I forgot my own.

My hard drive crashed. I lost everything. It still brings tears to my eyes to know what kind of memories my kids will never remember, nor will I. My photographs are my memories.

I will never make that mistake again, and I want to help you to never make that mistake. What do you do with the professional images you pay hundreds of dollars for? Do you order prints? Do they sit on the disk, and never make it too your walls?

LETS FIX THAT!!!!! Not only will it help motivate me to create those special albums for my children to have forever, but I want to help you too. I will be having a "Scrappin Diva's" event at my studio once a month. Either on a Friday or Saturday evening, for 4-6 hours. You may come as you please, stay as long as you like, and enjoy the company of others. Bring a friend whom you think may enjoy creating memories as well.

First one will be held in October, so stay tuned for the date!

Happy New Year!

First of all, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! Welcome 2013, and all the greatness that this year shall bring.

Now, onto the fun stuff! I feel so bad for neglecting all of you with my newsletters for the past year. They were few and far between, and this year I promise to deliver on time. Not only do I let you all know of the current specials, upcoming events, and such. This year they will also be full of useful information that I hope you can use. Things from "What do I wear to my session?" to "What type of camera should I buy?"

A few things have changed for the upcoming year for AIP.
First of all, I would like to announce that I am only taking a small amount of Weddings this year. That number is 10, and currently I have space for 7 more. It's not that I don't LOVE Weddings, it's that I have so many other things planned for this year, I want to make sure I'm not overbooking (like in years past).

New Studio Policies:
  1. All ordering sessions will be scheduled in studio at the end of your shoot. This means that we will schedule a date, usually 2 weeks from your shoot, for you to come in, view your images, and decide which products you would like to purchase.
  2. Orders must be placed within 14 days of your viewing/ordering session. You will have an online gallery to view/choose your images. (If not already done) If order is not placed by then, your gallery will expire, and there is a $49 fee to have it added again.
  3. Contracts and deposits must be received in order to book your appointment.
  4. Any purchase over $300 will be eligible for a payment plan. (YAY!)
All of these new policies are to ensure my business runs smoothly and efficiently, and you get the products in a timely manner.

Last but not least, I want to thank each and every one of the vendors who participated in making my Grand Opening a HUGE success!
Lindsay Hanway of Undercover Cupcake
Tom Farber of Synergy 1 Martial Arts
Yazbeth Acosta of Bloom by Arissa
I have linked to each one of their Facebook pages, so go show them some love :)
A huge Thank You also goes out to my Dad, Craig Murphy for being such an awesome Santa Claus. What a trooper for sitting in that suit all day long, taking photos, listening to Christmas wishes, and handing out candy canes.
